Nigel Bratt

Nigel is a Senior Manager at Alcoa, a global leader in lightweight metals technology which was founded 125 years ago, employing 58,000 people in 30 countries.

He has worked within their Sales & Marketing Division for most of his career and currently leads their Customer Service and Inside Sales function at their manufacturing location in Birmingham, managing and supporting global Billion Dollar Aerospace contracts with the world’s largest Aircraft Manufacturers and developing growth & world class Service Levels within the business’s Defence, Motorsport and General Engineering Markets. Prior to moving into the Engineering Sector Nigel had worked in Banking and Telecommunications.

Nigel is passionate about supporting and developing talent and enhancing opportunity for all and currently leads the education strand of his location’s Community Program, working with schools, universities, local Government and various training providers to help improve the academic attainment, employability and aspirations of the young people within his business community. In 2015 he was a finalist at the British Manufacturing Awards for his Community Work, and was part of a successful team in 2016 that won his company’s Global Impact Awards in Miami for his Community Education Work.  This included an Internship Program that was recognised by New York based Institute of International Education as the Global Leader.

Six years ago Nigel extended his work within his business community to that of his own Community and became a Parent Governor at Birchwood Primary School, before being elected as Chair one year later.  He is a founding member and Director of the Community Academies Trust.
