I retired from my post as CEO of The Fallibroome Trust in December 2021. We established the Trust in 2014 with four school and grew to ten schools, 3 Secondary and 7 Primaries over the next seven years. This included the incorporation of two failing schools and a school in severe financial difficulty, all are now rated as ‘Good’ and have secured the confidence of their communities.

The Trust was founded by The Fallibroome Academy, where I served as Headteacher from 2000 to 2014. During this period we achieved Performing Arts College status, Academy status, National Support School status and Teaching School status. We featured in several ‘top schools’ in the North West league tables and received three ‘outstanding’ (or equivalent) Ofsted judgements.

Prior to this I served as Headteacher of Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington, Telford for 8 years, during this period we became one of the first Grant Maintained Schools and Specialist Colleges in the Country.

My early career as a PE/English teacher saw service in Manchester and Cheshire Schools and a period as an Advisory Teacher for Teaching and Learning with Cheshire LA.

I have BEd, Med and MBA degrees. The MBA International Educational Leadership was excellent preparation for the immense changes in school leaders’ responsibilities that characterized my period of service.

I have enjoyed several opportunities for international study tours – to Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe, South Africa and the USA and established formal partnerships with schools in Australia, Singapore and South Africa.

I was the Chairman of the Learning Brain Europe Conference, a National conference for Teaching and Learning which ran 5 biannual conferences in the 2000s and was the forerunner of the current focus on cognitive science. I was also the Curator of 11 TEDx youth conferences and enjoyed the privilege of attending several TED conferences in the USA and UK.

I was a designated National Leader of Education and served on the Headteachers’ Board for the West Midland’s RSC and also on the National Teaching School Council. I also served on several Ministerial advisory groups and Cheshire based collaboratives.

I qualified as an Executive Coach in 2021 and am currently developing a consultancy to offer Coaching support for Headteachers and strategic advice to Trust Boards. I am also a facilitator/presenter for Best Practice Network NPQH and NPQEL programmes and have responded to several invites to make keynote/workshop addresses at national and Headteacher conferences
